Book Clubs

Welcome to the Book Club Page!

The Agawam Library is opening up our book groups to new members for the New Year.  We currently facilitate three monthly book discussion groups. For the time being, our monthly meetings are held virtually on ZOOM.

Registration is required as there is still a limited number of space available. Anyone interested can register month-to-month. Books are available to book club registrants four weeks prior to the meeting date. Please let us know if you prefer Large Print or a Book-on-CD. Members are also welcome to supply their own copies. Discussion questions will be available for each book. These questions provide members with thought-provoking topics that can facilitate discussion.

All of our book groups are an open forum for discussion. We maintain a respectful and encouraging environment for all of our participants. Differing opinions and beliefs have value and are treated with respect.

Please contact Adult Services Librarian, Cher Collins with additional questions.
She can be reached at (413) 789-1550 X8851 or ccollins@agawamlibrary.org.

The Night Bookers Book Club
First Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom

The Night Bookers cover a wide variety of contemporary fiction genres, some classic literature and a few non-fiction titles throughout the year. In the warmer weather, this group has been known to bring their own chairs and blankets for socially distanced, parking-lot discussions.

The Page Turners Book Club
Fourth Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. via Zoom

The Page Turners are our longest standing discussion group. We tackle contemporary, classical, and modern non-fiction and have thoughtful and lively discussions. Until we can meet in person again, we like to meet at School Street Park when the weather allows!

The Non-Fiction Book Club
Third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.
* unless there’s a Monday holiday

Our newest group formed last year and met just four times. With such a positive response, we decided to schedule a monthly meeting for this group. Titles are strictly non-fiction covering a lot of social issues, memoirs/biographies and combine contemporary and historical books.
