Agawam Public Library is one of many schools and public libraries across the nation recently awarded the Picturing America program. Picturing America is a free initiative from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) that helps introduce citizens of every age to our nation’s history and culture by bringing some of the country’s great art directly to libraries. Picturing America is distributed in cooperation with the American Library Association. The Agawam Public Library was awarded 40 large, high-quality reproductions of great American art and a comprehensive resource book to facilitate the use of the works of art. Some of the reproductions are on display in the library’s art gallery during the month of July. For more information on the program go to the Picturing America Website.
