AARON WOOD DISPLAY
The Agawam Public Library is pleased to have local artist Aaron Wood display his social media propaganda posters on the lower level for the month of February. The inspiration for Aaron’s work began in July 2011 when he joined the social network, Google+. After seeing much dissent and dislike for Facebook and Twitter on the fledging site, he was inspired to develop a series of social media propaganda images based off the themes and artwork of World War II propaganda posters. Since then he has created more than twenty posters with themes including Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. These posters also have been displayed in Vanity Fair Italy, the offices of Twitter, and in homes around the world. The posters are printed locally at Millennium Press in Agawam. Viewing is during regular library hours.
JOLENE MERCADANTE WRITES A MEMOIR
Now Available for purchase or checkout from your local library is Agawam librarian Jolene Mercadante's first published book, a memoir entitled "The Angel On My Shoulder; My Life with an American Pit Bull Terrier." "A love story from start to finish," "A delight to read," "If you enjoy tales of true love, you will value this story." These are just a few responses from best-selling authors who have read Jolene's memoir. Jolene's story about Rumer, her beautiful pit bull, shatters the horrible myths associates with this breed and helps the reader understand the true nature of the American Pit Bull Terrier!
Evergreen Catalog Brings Changes for Patrons
C/W MARS will soon be changing over to the new Evergreen system. A few things will occur that patrons will need to know in advance. Most important - you will need your card for every transaction. An I. D. or license will no longer be accepted. Your Reading History and wish lists will not be carried over. If this info is important, please remember to save or export it. Old passwords will no longer be effective. All new passwords will be the last four digits of your library card number. You will be asked to change your password when you login for the first time. Please watch for updates on our website, Facebook page, and in the library.
